Actresses Aiko Melendez and Beauty Gonzalez are once again rivaling each other but this time, in the same television series.
Way back in 2019, Melendez was in GMA Network’s drama series Prima Donnas, while Gonzalez was in ABS-CBN’s drama-revenge series Kadenang Ginto. Both aired in the same timeslot, rivaling each other for views and ratings.
On their mediacon on October 14, the cast, which many labels as a powerhouse cast, sat for interviews, and the rivalry of the two actresses’ characters immediately became one of the most hyped and most awaited parts of the series.
“Itong pagbabalik ko sa show business, blessing po dahil bukod sa makakatrabaho ko si Beauty, like I’ve said, I’m very open about it – Magkatapat kasi yung show namin dati, Prima Donnas at ang Kadenang Ginto. Alam niyo naman yon di ba? Magkatapat. And then yung character na naman namin dito sa Mano Po 3 magkatapat pero ang pinakamasaya dito, sa totoong buhay di kami naging magkatapat. Nagkaroon lang ako ng katapat bilang kaibigan,” Melendez expressed.
When asked how she felt now that she and Melendez will face each other, Gonzalez shares her excitement about working with the more senior and seasoned star and the whole cast.
“Well, I’m very happy and excited! Everytime na pupunta na ako sa work, I’m so excited kasi masaya talaga yung set namin and it’s a fun set kasi we get to collaborate with our directors and then we get to collaborate with with our co-actors also and you know, I’m very privileged to be part of Mano Po because this is a legacy.”
Gonzalez also is thankful to Regal Entertainment Inc. COO & vice president Roselle Monteverde and GMA Network first vice president for program management department Joey R. Abacan for choosing her to be part of the cast.
“I’ll make sure that it’s worth it and it’s gonna be a fun ride so, guys, fasten your seatbelts kasi marami kayong aabangan,” the actress said.
Along with Melendez and Gonzalez, female Kapuso stars Thea Tolentino and Angel Guardian will co-star as the Flower Sisters in the Kapuso Series as well.
With Melendez portraying as Lily, Gonzalez as Violet, Thea Tolentino as Dahlia, and Angel Guardian as Iris–Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters surely is an exciting and worthy TV series the Kapuso fans can look forward to.
