At the media conference for Flower of Evil Finale that included LionhearTV, on October 4, Dreamscape head Deo Endrinal and Viu Philippines content development manager Garlic Garcia talked about the future of Viu and Dreamscape’s partnership.
Endrinal assured Kapamilya viewers that they always bring their best in every project, citing the success of The Broken Marriage Vow.
“I think it’s for the viewers to say. Magbubuhat naman siguro kami ng bench kung kami ang magsasabi na napantayan or nalagpasan. We always do our best with every project, especially since this is our second for Viu. Of course, we want to congratulate The Broken Marriage Vow for being the most awarded nationally within six categories.”
He then gave a positive response toward the success of Flower of Evil.
“We’re very happy/ because Flower of Evil streamed in all the 16 territories of Viu, so for that alone, mararamdaman mo ‘yung pressure na we really–sabi nga ni Garlic, we really have to ante the standards of doing series. Not just for the Filipinos, but start doing series for the world and be proud that it’s Filipino.”
Garcia echoed Endrinal’s feedback and highlighted the quality of the Pinoy adaptation of the Korean series.
“Iimbitahin po namin kayo ulit na panoorin ninyo po ang Flower of Evil on the Viu platform because if you want to see how we elevate Filipino content, you need to watch each episode. Every shot, lighting, cinematography, wardrobe, design, and acting –everything was at such a high level. It’s nothing that/ you’ve seen in the Philippines, and that’s something that we could all be proud of, ‘yun.”
Endrinal then mentioned the future partnership between Dreamscape and Viu.
“Of course, we’re very/ happy with the series, the performance of everybody, with Direk Darnell and Direk Richard. It’s a dream come true. It is one of the most looked forward na series na ginawa namin. It’s our second with Viu, and hopefully, we /are going to do more. Hopefully, next year. So thank you very much– Piolo, Lovi, Paulo, JC, and the rest of the cast. Job well done for all.”
Flower of Evil also stars Piolo Pascual, and Paulo Avelino, with an all-star cast such as JC de Vera, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joross Gamboa, Joko Diaz, and Edu Manzano.
