At the story conference for ‘Lovely Ladies’ Dorm’ on October 13, DJ Durano’s daughter Yen Renee discussed her Viva Artist journey.
Renee narrated how she signed with Viva through a friend-turned-manager.
“So before coming into Viva, I was also a student, and before my manager became my manager, he was a friend first. And then biglang, ‘yun nga, nag-IG lang, nag-PM siya sa IG, sabi niya, ‘Gusto mo mag Viva?’ Sabi ko, ‘Okay!’ Wala naman siya sa plan ko actually.”
She then cited her showbiz experience through her father, DJ Durano.
“I was exposed sa pag-aartista na ‘yan because my Dad is also an actor. So for me, I was ready to take on the challenge na people are always telling me na mag-artista ka kaya.”
Renee made known some of her father’s movies like: ‘Praybeyt Benjamin’, ‘Moron Five’, and ‘Tanging Ina Mo’.
She admitted that she wanted to be a flight attendant before entering showbiz, adding that ‘fame’ never really came into her mind and that she only wanted to own her time and travel the world.
She then discussed getting handpicked for her role in Lovely Ladies’ Dorm.
“We were meant to be here. Parang everyone was handpicked, and we all aligned kasi we share the same vision and that’s a big factor in making things work.”
Yen Renee stars in the Vivamax series Lovely Ladies Dorm alongside Hershie de Leon, Tiffany Grey, Andrea Garcia, and Julia Victoria.
The six-part series also includes a stellar Viva cast with Alma Moreno, Gene Padilla, Nicco Locco, and Yuki Sakamoto.
Directed by Mervyn Brondial, ‘Lovely Ladies’ Dorm‘ is streaming soon on Vivamax.
