Bianca Lapus, Vhong Navarro‘s former wife, showed support amid Navarro and Tanya Bautista’s legal battle concerning the revived 2014 rape case.
On October 17, Lapus expressed her support for her former husband.
“We will get through this as one family. ‘Yun naman ever since ang motto namin every time na may problema. It’s just unfortunate na nangyari ulit ngayon. Akala natin ay tapos na. It’s going to be hard. Pero ako, ang pangako ko kay Vhong, bago pa siya magpunta ng NBI, ako na ang bahala sa mga bata and don’t worry about them.
“We’re on good terms. In a way, friends kaming lahat. Ako, I personally talk to her, kinukumusta ko siya palagi because I know mahirap rin talaga ang pinagdaraanan niya. Parang ‘pag naiisip ko nga na kung ako pa rin ang current wife, baka nabaliw-baliw na ako.”
Lapus admitted she communicated with Bautista after Navarro’s rape case got revived.
“Pero alam ko na strong rin si Tanya and she needs all the support she could get, especially from us, kasi family talaga kami. Suportahan talaga kaming lahat, lalo na para sa mga bata and nagtutulungan para palakasin ang loob ni Vhong,” Lapus said.
On September 20, Navarro surrendered to the NBI following the revival of the rape case filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
On September 21, via an interview, Bautista shared an update regarding her husband’s detention.
“Sobrang emotional na niya. Dinig ko talagang humagulgol na siya. Kasi, yun na. ‘Tapos, yung parang yakap niya. First time yung ganoon. Kasi nga mag-isa siya. Sabi ko nga sa iyo, bumabalik na naman yung trauma niya.”
