Ashley Ortega is set to return as a figure skater on a new GMA series, Hearts on Ice with Xian Lim.
On October 4, Ortega expressed how grateful she is to the Network for giving her the project.
“I know it may sound cliche but dream role ko talaga ‘to ever since I started showbiz and ngayon natupad na siya,” she said.
Ortega will portray the character of a figure skater in the upcoming teleserye.
“I’ve been training for six months. Sakto nu’ng pagkatapos ko mag-lock in taping for Widows’ Web last February, nag-train ako kaagad sa skating. So ngayon ongoing habang hindi pa kami nag-start ng taping.
“I train talaga. Ibinubuhos ko ‘yung time and effort ko sa training to really have a nice show, and para ‘pag nagte-take na kami hindi na ako mahirapan. At least okay na ‘yung stamina ko, okay na ‘yung jumps ko, spins ko. Focus talaga ako sa preparations. I think sa lahat ng seryeng ginawa ko, ito ‘yung longest preparations na ginawa ko for a character.”
In preparation for her character, Ortega revealed that she has been training in figure skating for six months.
Ortega admitted she feels pressured doing the said series.
“This will be different. It’s my first to do a sports drama and isa rin ito sa kauna-unahang figure skating na teleserye. Sobrang nape-pressure din ako kasi ang taas ng expectations ng mga tao, pero this is it!”
Joining Ortega in the upcoming sports drama series are Amy Austria, Rita Avila, Tonton Gutierrez, Lito Pimentel, Ina Feleo, Cheska Iñigo, Kim Perez, Ruiz Gomez, and Roxie Smith.
