The Miss Q and A ‘resbaker’ claimed the third crown of the widely talked-about pageant for queers on It’s Showtime.
After nearly failing to enter the grand finals of the third season, Anne Patria Lorenzo ultimately emerged as Miss Q and A: Kween of the Multibeks grand winner, during the season’s finale on October 22. Lorenzo bested out fellow Top 3 finishers, Manny Dionisia and Karen Montecillo.
Lorenzo won the judges over her biting answer during the competition’s final round, where the Top 3 contestants were asked the question: “Naniniwala ka ba na merong taong tanga? (Do you believe stupid people, exist).”
“Naniniwala ako may taong tanga. Bakit? Dahil sinasadya niyang magpakatanga kahit lahat naman tayo ay may kakayanang malaman ang tama at mali. Nilikha tayong matalino pero choice nating magpakatanga sa mga sitwasyong kaya natin maging matalino. Tulad na lang sa pagpili ng mga pinuno sa ating bayan, alam naman natin kung sino ang may kredibilidad, pero nagpapadala tayo sa mga matatamis na salita.
“(I believe stupid people are real. Why? People deliberately choose to be stupid, despite the fact that all of us have the capacity to distinguish what is right from wrong. We are inherently intelligent, yet we choose to be dumb in situations where we can be intellectuals. That is true during elections; we know who has the credibility, and yet we still go for the one who just knows how to speak sweetly),” answered Lorenzo.
The scream of excitement from the live studio audience, as well as the overwhelming commendation from netizens, seemed to serve as proof that she nailed her answer.
Lorenzo was one of the ‘resbakers’ or returning queens from past seasons and the current season (but didn’t place in the semi-finals). She competed in the second season of the pageant but placed just sixth in the grand finals. With her winning answer today, she proved that it was her destiny to claim the crown. It can be noted, however, that she won by a very slim, 0.1%, over her runner-up, Karen Montecillo, who also wowed the crowd with her answer.
She takes home a cash prize of PhP500,000 and several livelihood packages. She joins fellow grand winners Juliana Parizcova (Season1), and Mitch Montecillo Suansane (Season 2).
