The two Kapuso shows ‘ ratings tracked opposing directions, with the afternoon medical drama reaching a new all-time high since its debut.
Abot Kamay ng Pangarap continues to break away in the rating competition, as viewers get glued to the controversial series.
On October 25, the series registered a 10.1% people rating on the Nielsen Philippines National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) scale, marking a series-high, and making the Jillian Ward-starrer the only double-digit rater among Kapuso daytime dramas.
The series is well ahead of its rival show, It’s Showtime, which only managed to post 2.5% in ratings, on the same day.
GMA Drama shared the ratings of the show and its time slot rival, on its Twitter account. “RECORD-BREAKING! Talaga namang tinutukan ng sambayanan ang resulta ng DNA Test ni RJ at Analyn! Salamat po, mga Kapuso! “ its tweet reads.

The said record-breaking episode featured the nerve-racking result of the DNA test taken by both Dr. Robert Tanyag (Richard Yap) and Analyn (Jillian Ward) to know if they are biologically linked as father and daughter.
As Abot Kamay Na Pangarap surges further in viewership, another Kapuso rating leader, Maria Clara at Ibarra, continues to experience decline, despite keeping its leadership on its time slot. On October 24, the primetime period-fantasy drama registered its lowest rating, since it debuted on Telebabad last October 3. According to Nielsen Philippines, Maria Clara at Ibarra posted a 13.8% people rating, which is still twice as high as its Kapamilya counterpart, Darna, but noticeably lower than what previous episodes got.
Many netizens pinned the blame on the series’ continued exploration of a possible romantic angle between lead characters, Ibarra (Dennis Trillo) and Klay (Barbie Forteza), claiming such a choice would only desecrate Ibarra’s faithful and loyal image, as Dr. Jose Rizal wrote him.
That said, the series quickly recovered the following day, October 25, with a higher rating of 14.9% as reported by Nielsen Philippines.
