What We Could Be is a very important project for Miguel Tanfelix, Yasser Marta, and Ysabel Ortega on Wednesday, August 24, as they consider it a turning point in their careers.
In the virtual media conference of the show, Tanfelix, who was last seen in GMA Network’s Sahaya, said that his latest primetime series is a “testament” that he is now ready to take on mature roles.
“Before pandemic pa ako lumabas sa TV, and ang dami nang nangyari—nagkaroon na ng pandemic, ilang taon na ang nakalipas,” he said to the press and LionhearTV. “So ito ‘yung parang transition period ko to a young adult na mga characters na magagampanan ko in the future. So yes, it is a big turning point in my career.”
On the other hand, Ortega saw it as an improvement in her relationship with GMA Network. She also considered it her first lead role since Voltes V: Legacy, which she also leads, will be airing next year.
“I’m just so grateful kasi I feel like it’s not just me, you know, turning a [new] leaf professionally sa career ko but as well as ‘yung relationship ko with GMA. I’m so grateful na nabigyan nila ako ng opportunity to star in the show.”
Marta, who started from the bottom, said it is a big achievement for him to be part of the show’s main cast.
“Isang achievement ito sa buhay ko, sa takbo ng karera ko lalo ako na nanggaling ako sa wala dito sa industriyang ito. Nagsimula from scratch, from zero. Then ngayon, binigyan ako ng ganitong kalaking opportunity lalo ng mga taong behind this project, mga award-winning talaga,” he said.
The artist added, “Ang laking turning point nu’n bilang aktor. Ako naman, ginagawa ko ang trabaho ko kahit ano pang ibigay sa akin, maliit man o malaki, ibinibigay ko ang best ko.”
The series will replace Bolera beginning on Monday, August 30, on GTV.
