On September 13, English soprano singer Sarah Brightman discussed the possibility of her return to Broadway and West End at the media conference for her upcoming concert, A Christmas Symphony, with the press, including LionhearTV.
Brightman said she would never say never to returning to Broadway and West End theater productions.
“You know, never say never about Broadway and Westend. But you know, to tell you the truth, I’m not sure I could manage those eight shows a week anymore because–but then again, I do so many concert tours that often we do a lot of performances in a week.Â
“So maybe I would have the strength to do it. I’m not sure–it’s always wonderful to get into a different character to play somebody other than yourself. That would the thing that would get me back there.”
As for her career, she considered her performances at the Barcelona and Beijing Olympic Games as her most memorable singing moments.
“The two times that I’ve sung the theme song for the Olympic Games. There’s something you know [like] with musicians and sports people that do sports and the stars of the sports world–they’re the two you know–the couple of things that brings. No matter what’s going on, what countries, wars, everything, it tends to–sports and music tend to [bring] people together again because we all love music–we all love sports.Â
“So I think singing those theme songs and being there in the Barcelona Games– and the Chinese (Beijing Olympics) were incredible moments.”Â
Known as the world’s best-selling Soprano, Brightman worked on the theatrical productions of Cats and The Phantom of the Opera.Â
She also became the UNESCO Artist for Peace Ambassador and performed at the Kennedy Center Honors and the Barcelona and Beijing Olympic Games.
Her songs accumulated sales amounting to more than 30 million, receiving awards in over 40 countries.
Her upcoming holiday concert, A Christmas Symphony Tour, happens on December 7, 2022, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.Â
