Not only did the Kapuso reality show neutralize its rival ABS-CBN show, but it also reigned supreme on the weekend rating leader board.
Running Man Philippines extended its winning streak last weekend (September 24 and 25) in reigning its timeslot once again in TV ratings. Despite the arrival of a new show from ABS-CBN, the Vice Ganda-hosted Everybody Sing, which is now in its second season. The Kapamilya community singing game show expanded its reach on free TV, as it previously aired on free TV just via A2Z; it also now airs on TV5.
The Kapuso reality show, however, kept its lead, and even got revitalized amid Everybody Sing’s threat. It is evident on the latest weekend ratings released by Nielsen Philippines.
According to Nielsen Philippines’ National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM), Running Man Philippines scored a whopping 13.5% people rating on Saturday, September 24. That’s more than three times as high as Everybody Sing, which managed to gain a meager 4.1%. On Sunday, September 25, Running Man Philippines further widened its lead and scored a 16.8% people rating against Everybody Sing’s 4.4%.
It is interesting to note, however, that the inspiring Kapamilya game show attracted an average of 120,000 concurrent viewers on YouTube. TV5 and A2Z, combined, also have fewer TV stations nationwide than their Kapuso counterpart.
Based on the Korean reality show with the same title– Running Man Philippines stars some of the Kapuso Network’s finest young stars, including Kokoy de Santos, Angel Guardian, Lexi Gonzales, Buboy Villar, and Rura Madrid. Glaiza de Castro and Mikael Daez are also part of the show.
