The emerging girl group had its leg of successful fan meets and events in the Philippines, from September 3 to 10.
Lapillus, the new girl group from South Korea, certainly maximized their time in the Philippines, with almost non-stop press cons, TV guesting, and fan meets. After arriving in the country on September 3, the group had their first press conference, two days later.
Chanty, the only Filipino member of the group, shared the group’s excitement in meeting their Filipino fans, for the first time. “I have so many words to describe how I feel right now, but I’m just really, really happy that I get to promote ‘Hit Ya!’, promote our group here in the Philippines, my home country, it’s really an honor,” she said during the press con.
Previously known as Chantal Videla, Chanty was a Star Magic artist who y appeared in some ABS-CBN dramas and TV shows. She underwent intensive K-POP training lessons in Korea to be part of the girl group, Lapillus.
The last weekend, September 10 and 11, saw the group’s busiest days in the Philippines, as it marked their biggest fan meets and TV guesting. They appeared both on It’s Showtime, ABS-CBN’s flagship daily noontime show, and on ASAP Natin ‘To, where they performed their hit single ‘Hit Yah!’.
On September 10, Saturday, the group performed in front of the fans, during their fan meet at the Market, Market, where more than 8,000 fans flocked to the venue to see them live. They held another fan meet the next day, September 11, at the Ayala Terraces, One of their most memorable moments on stage, was when they performed their cover of Yeng Constantino’s monster hit, Salamat.
Other than TV guesting and fan meets, Lapillus also visited Metro Manila radio stations to promote their single. Lapillus’ agency MLD Entertainment notably announced the launch of “Dream Makers”, a large-scale global audition program that intends to discover future K-Pop superstars in the Philippines.
Lapillus is set to release the mini-album GIRL’s Round Part 1 which is set to be out in the market on September 22.Â
