Kapamilya transwoman artist Maria Angela Trajano felt flattered to portray a transwoman for her upcoming series at the media conference for ‘Love Bites’ with the press, including LionhearTV, on September 14, 2022.
Trajano described her experience starring in Love Bites as surreal, especially as a transwoman.
“It was very, very flattering at the same time. As of now, it feels surreal din kasi as a transwoman it’s really /rare for us to be /seen on acting, on having–or like do shows. So para sa akin, sobrang napaka meaningful sa akin nito and I’ve been given a chance by Direk Dado.”
She then highlighted how she did her best to give an authentic, transparent, and genuine portrayal of her role.
“So ginawa ko lahat ng best ko talaga dito. Parang binigay ko ‘yung buong-buo ko dito. ‘Yung sobrang authentic, sobrang transparent, and sobrang genuine ko.Â
“At the same time, naka-relate din ako sa story noong– ng story, parang like nagpa-pageant, nagmahal, nasaktan, umiyak, tapos nagmahal ulit. Ganon, sobrang sarap talaga magmahal.”
She then noted how transpeople are also capable of genuine intimacy and relationship.
“It’s very genuine. And love knows no gender. So, it’s time, for now, we could change and apply our diversity. And at the same time, recognizing our existence that we are also human. And we could love, and we could be someone worth fighting for, di ba po? Ang sarap ng pakiramdam na mahalin.Â
“Sa ating mga transpoeple po kasi when love comes, we give everything, sobrang napaka-selfless natin, and at the same time, nakakalimutan na po natin ‘yung sarili natin eh. And from those lessons from the past, may mga realizations at the same time, gagamitin po natin siyang preparation sa mga sususnod.”
Trajano stars in an episode of the ABS-CBN and RCD Narratives creation, ‘Love Bites,’ alongside fellow Kapamilya star Kristof Garcia.
The made-for-YouTube series streams on the Kapamilya YouTube channel starting September 16 and lasts up to November 2022.
