Viva artists Kych Minemoto and Gold Aceron discussed their opinions on falling for someone older than them at the media conference for the Viva movie with the press, including LionhearTV, on September 15, 2022.
Minemoto recounted his experience dating older women, citing how he and his partner learn from each other.
“Ako yes, no doubt, it’s a different kind of relationship, madami kang matutunan sa kanya and at the same time, madami rin siyang matutunan sayo.
“And ako kasi before, mayroon na akong halos–mostly ng mga nagiging girlfriend ko or nakaka-date ko before is older than me, so okay din ‘yung ginaguide ka. Pero, siyempre, may times na ikaw din. Pero ako oo, siguro ganon lang ka-simple. Oo kasi, mas malawak ang pag-intindi, mas mature, and ‘yun.”
Aceron noted that he’s open to experiencing a relationship with someone older.
Regarding the people still judging the LGBTQIA+ Community, Aceron urged people to promote understanding instead of prejudice.
And ano ‘yan eh, ganon talaga eh.
“Ayun ‘yung nararamdaman nila, ayun sila, so hindi natin pwede talagang mabago ‘yun.
He also stressed that he’s an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Ako, LGBT community, talagang support ako diyan dahil ang dami kong pinsan na ganyan at ang dami kong friends din na ganyan, and lahat sila mabait, and lahat sila, ginagawa lang kung saan sila masaya.”
Minemoto echoed Aceron’s call for understanding for the LGBTQIA+ Community.
“Guys, it’s 2022, you know parang dapat mas malawak na ‘yung pag-intindi natin, have your own life. Basta as long as wala kang tinatapakan na tao, gawin mo ‘yung sa tingin mong makakabuti sayo, mahalin mo kung sino ‘yung makakabuti sayo, mag-explore ka kung ‘yun ‘yung makakabuti sayo, kasi hindi mo masasabi eh.
“Mahaba ‘yung buhay, mamaya ikaw ‘yung nang-aasar-asar, ikaw din ‘yun di ba? So, bigyan natin ng respeto ang bawat tao, personal space, kung ganyan ‘yung gusto nilang damit, let it be.
