Kapamilya star Karina Bautista clarified on August 22, why Aljon Mendoza wouldn’t be hosting the newest season of Bida Star alongside her.
At the online media conference for Bida Star Versus with the press, including LionhearTV, Bautista explained that Mendoza had prior commitments that he needed to accomplish but remained supportive of the talent search.
“Sadly, he will not be part of this Bida Star season kasi due to his prior commitments, pero he still supports Bida Star naman.”
She also addressed the possibility of her and Mendoza getting paired with other Kapamilya stars.
“I think now, alam ninyo, ang pinakakatuwa ay ang Star Magic, and Star Hunt, and ABS-CBN, is actually experimenting na. Parang, talagang hindi na siya ‘yung katulad ng dati na parang mainstay love teams, ganyan. Ngayon, parang ine-explore na namin ‘yung side, like Korean dramas, na pwedeng ipartner kahit kanino man. But still, nandoon pa rin ‘yung spark, ‘yung passion, and friendship.”
Bautista then maintained that she and Mendoza have no issues with each other, citing how they remain supportive of each other.
“Kami ni Aljon, we really don’t have problems, and I believe he’s happy where he is, ‘yung path niya and nag-uusap pa rin naman kami. Like, ‘yung screening ng Connected, kami pa rin ‘yung magkasama. So we still consider ourselves as partners pero with this Bida Star season naman, it’s not a a super big reason kung bakit wala siya dito. It’s just a matter of may iba talaga muna siyang ginagawa.”
Bautista and Mendoza have been hosting previous seasons of Bida Star and became an item after their exit from the Pinoy Big Brother house.
The newest season of Star Hunt’s talent search Bida Star Versus features a competition between male versus female contestants for the Ultimate Bida Star title.
The new hosts of the Kapamilya talent search are Karina Bautista, Anji Salvacion, and Benedix Ramos. Bida Star Versus premieres on September 5 through the KUMU and Facebook account of Star Hunt.
