On August 22, Kapamilya star Karina Bautista stated that she felt ready and prepared to take on a lead role.
At the online media conference for Bida Star Versus with the press, including LionhearTV, Bautista highlighted her belief that as an artist, she should always be ready to grab the project she wants.
“I always believe na walang salitang parang hindi ka pa ready sa industriyang ito. Kapag binigay na sa iyo, kailangan ready ka na by that time, kasi sayang naman kung sasabihin mo, ‘Uy, hindi pa ako ready.’
“So now na hindi ko nakukuha lahat ng proyekto na gusto kong makuha, like pagiging bida, ay inihahanda ko naman ‘yung sarili ko in case that comes, or in case that role for me comes.”
She then talked about her growth in acting, thanks to her role in ABS-CBN’s Viral: Scandal.
“Pero, ‘yun Viral Scandal kasi, it has taught me a lot of things, and super thankful ako because of that. Nag-grow talaga ako as an actress, as you’ve seen from the first scenes ng Viral: Scandal until the end, iba talaga. Nandoon ‘yung growth and improvement, both in my personal life and as an actress.”
However, Bautista clarified that she wasn’t in a rush to get her leading role project.
“Ako naman hindi naman ako nagmamadali sa pagiging bida, if I could enjoy this phase, i-enjoy ko na rin lang muna. And, ayun ‘yun nga hindi ko naman laging tinatanong si Lord, like ‘Ako naman, ako naman.’ Wala naman akong magagawa- paminsan mapapatanong ka, pero not like naman super nao-obsessed. Ako naman, if it will happen, it will happen, so I just let things be but still I still improve my self.”
As for the newest season of Star Hunt’s talent search, Bida Star Versus features male contestants going against female contestants to determine the next Ultimate Bida Star.
The new hosts of the Kapamilya talent search are Karina Bautista, Anji Salvacion, and Benedix Ramos. Bida Star Versus premieres on September 5 through the KUMU and Facebook account of Star Hunt.
