The goal of variety shows All-Out Sundays (AOS) and ASAP was to inspire and entertain people, as noted by Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose on August 30.
San Jose dismissed the idea that both shows try to outdo each other. What’s important is that each artist performs in the best way possible.
“Wala ‘yung rivalry na alam mo ‘yung parang kailangan mas magaling ako dito or whatever, or kailangan ma-surpass natin ito, ganito ganiyan. That’s the goal of noontime shows eh,” she said during the virtual media conference for her latest single Di Ka Akin.
San Jose added, “Pare-parehas lang tayo ng goal. For me, personally, ‘yun lang din ang pinaka—like goal ko. It’s to bring out the best in me everytime I perform on stage.”
The singer admitted she gets motivated to do better if an ASAP performer has a fantastic performance.
“And it encourages me even more when I see something like nakaka-amaze, na parang nakaka-inspire to be a better performer, to be a better artist.”
Moreover, performers like herself don’t see themselves as rivals as they share the same goal—to inspire.
“Parang wala din naman po sa amin yun. Besides, nasa isang mundo lang naman tayo nang ginagalawan, and we only have purpose, and that’s to inspire people thorugh our craft.”
In the meantime, her single Di Ka Akin collaborates with Gary Valenciano. It is under Universal Records.
