On August 3, Viva artist Josef Elizalde reacted to Marco Gumabao’s statement that he’s the new Vivamax Prince.
At the media conference for Purification, Elizalde said Gumabao was only kidding and that the title remains with his fellow Viva artist.
“Ewan ko, mapagbiro lang naman si Marco. Alam naman nating si Marco pa rin talaga– walang makakatalo naman kay Marco. Siguro kahit ako na lang ang sumunod, okay lang.”
As for his plans, Elizalde revealed that he would still work on sexy-themed projects.
“Siguro it really depends naman kay Viva no, pero for now, tuloy-tuloy muna ‘to. Nag-eenjoy pa naman ako. Siguro sabayan lang natin si Vivamax eh, tapos eventually we’ll see kung saan ako mapupunta.”
Elizalde then talked about working with the female cast of their sexy-thriller Purificacion.
“Okay naman, they’re all professionals naman. Some of them–I’ve worked with them before, si Kat, si Steph, I’ve worked with them before, and they’re all professionals naman. Lahat kami pagdating sa set, you know, we enter there as our characters. Okay naman, masaya.”
He then detailed how he copes with the negative feedback about his recent roles.
“Wala siguro sanayan lang din. Any role naman that you do, para you’d always have feedback from people, negative insights from people di ba? No matter what role you do, dati, I would do gay roles and then ang dami pa ring nakukuhang negative reviews about my character.
“I think, kahit anong character ang gawin, kahit anong pelikula gawin, ang dami talagang masasabi ng mga tao, no matter what. So it’s just a matter neglecting all of them. Don’t let it affect you, and use it as a motivation for your next project, your next character na lang.”
Elizalde stars in the Vivamax sexy-thriller Purificacion alongside Cara Gonzales. The cast include Ava Mendez, Quinn Carillo, Stephanie Raz, and Kat Dovey. Purificacion directed by GB Sampedro, premieres this August 5, 2022, via Vivamax.
