Joel “Lord of Scents” Cruz is not yet open to adding a ninth child, pointing out on September 9 that it is hard to raise eight children.
“Ngayon kasi na-enjoy ko ang walo pa and parang nao-overwhelm ako sa walong bata,” he said during an interview after the tribute concert for Reverend Father Jerome Secillano titled Maria Bukod Kang Pinagpala: A tribute and Thanksgiving Concert. The concert was held in the newly-renovated Metropolitan Theater.
Cruz, however, was not closing the door to having one more child as he still has a fertilized embryo in Russia.
“In case na lumaki sila, at nakaka-miss na rin mag-alaga ng bata, maybe five years, ten years, 3 years, or what, we’ll see. P’wede pa naman. Walang expiration.”
Meanwhile, his children, Prince Sean, Princess Synne, Prince Harvey, Prince Harry, Charles, Charlotte, Zaid, and Ziv, are all growing up so fast. When asked if he would allow them to enter showbusiness, Cruz said he would support them as long as they had the knack for it.
“Kinakausap ko naman sila na kung meron silang talent, at kung passion nila iyon, why not, p’wede silang maging celebrity. Basta may talent sila.
“Alam mo naman kapag artista, hindi p’wedeng wala kang talent ‘di ba? Sa pag-acting, or pag-hosting, or singing, or dancing. So dapat may talent sila. If they have the talent, and they believe they can inspire people, at marami silang followers, why not,” explained the Aficionado CEO.
