Kapamilya star Jeric Gonzales addressed rumors that he and his ex-girlfriend Rabiya Mateo are already back in each other’s arms.
Gonzales and Mateo dated around March 2022. They were together for about three months before the break-up rumors between them surfaced in June this year.
According to the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast on September 22, Gonzales revealed that he and the beauty queen-turned-Kapuso talent are still good friends.
“After what happened, of course, the controversies and the issues, nag-stay kami na friends, good friends.
“Ang hirap sabihin na nagkabalikan. Mas gusto lang muna namin sabihin na we’re good friends and we support each other and we still have a good relationship as friends dito sa showbiz,” said Gonzales.
He then explained that he and Mateo did not have a bad break-up but simply had priorities in life.
“Yes, kasi kami, wala naman talaga kaming pinag-awayan, pinagtalunan na ano, issue.
“Siguro, priorities lang talaga as of now kasi we’re both busy. Pagka nagkaroon pa ng ibang isyu sa showbiz ang hirap, e, maraming taong nakikialam, maraming issues na darating sa kanya, sa akin.
“So, mas healthy na ano, focus kami sa work pero at the same time, okay naman kami,” he said.
Gonzales currently stars in the GMA adaption of the 2020 K-drama Start-Up. Rabiya Mateo currently hosts the Kapuso variety show TiktoClock along with Kim Atienza and Pokwang.
