The multi-awarded international actress still has a two-year contract with her home network, which she is committed to fulfilling before proceeding to her planned retirement.
Barely a day after announcing her retirement from showbiz via a social media post. The movie and television actress, Jaclyn Jose, clarified that she can not pursue her retirement plan yet.
It turned out that she still has a two-year contract with GMA Network.
In a now-deleted post, Jose previously announced “I am retiring… maraming salamat po (thank you very much),” noting how she missed being with her children.
“Masakit but… I know I have to go. I just so love Andi and Gwen most and foremost to have come into this.”
Jose said she retracted her previous statement, noting her unfulfilled contract with GMA Network.
‘“I wanted to but I still have 2 years contract with GMA,” she said in a text sent PEP.ph.
She then revealed that her road manager reminded her of her contract, which prompted her to take down her announcement.
She was notably last seen in the series Bolera, which concluded last week, after reigning the rating game for more than two months. The series was top-billed by Kapuso’s leading lady, Kylie Padilla.
Fans who have aired their dismay over Jose’s retirement announcement no longer have to feel forlorn, as it turned out that she may still appear in upcoming Kapuso shows and movies.
Among Jose’s most remarkable performances in film and television, include Ma’Rosa, which handed her her first and only Cannes Best Actress Award in 2016. She is also a 5-time Gawad Urian winner, as well as a three-time Luna awardee.
