On August 29, ‘Showbiz Now Na’ hosts Cristy Fermin, Morly Alino, and Wendell Alvarez reported that seasoned actress-turned philanthropist Gretchen Barretto’s retirement from showbiz.
The trio discussed Barretto’s retirement, with Wendell highlighting how the showbiz industry would lose some of its most beautiful stars.
Morly emphasized how Barretto is doing her grand exit while remaining relevant.
“At least ate Cristy grand exit ang gagawin niya. Hindi siya laos! Hindi siya pulubi! Hindi siya pangit!”
He also noted how the seasoned actress decided to retire of her own volition.
Cristy, on the other hand, recounted the career of Barretto starting in 1984 with her debut Regal Movie, 14 Going Steady.
She also stressed how Barretto values her personal life and connection with her grandchild.
Barretto began her career with the 1984 movies Tender Age,’ ’14 Going Steady,’ and ‘Life Begins at 40.’
Her most iconic roles are in the movies The Trial (2014), Ikaw Lamang, Wala nang iba (1994), and The Diplomat Hotel (2013).
As for her TV roles, Barretto starred in the 2010 series Magkaribal and the 2012 teleserye The Princess and I.
