Concon Felix and Kyzha Villalino highlighted what Kapamilyas would learn with their Girls Love episode in ‘Love Bites’ at the media conference for the series with the press, including LionhearTV, on September 14, 2022.
Felix said that women involved in a Girls Love relationship relate to each other better while noting the importance of respect and communication.
“Siguro, dahil nga girl pareho, alam nila kung ano ‘yung kiliti ng bawat isa. Ganon pero, ganon pa rin naman sa relasyon. Kailangan mo talagang magpa-sensya sa mga ugali ninyo.
“Kailangan ‘yung tanggapin kung sino kaya, and respeto, communication, and maging genuine lang kayo sa mga nararamdaman ninyo. Kailangan maging open kayo kasi siguro doon nasisira ang isang relationship kapag hindi nao-open sa isa’t isa ‘yung mga nakikita ninyong mali.”
Villalino echoed Felix’s assessment of the advantages of a Girls Love relationship.
“Mayroon din naman talagang advantage pagdating sa Girls Love, Lesbian Love, Bisexual Love, kasi for me, mas nagkakaintindihan sila pareho kasi nga parehas silang babae, tapos alam nila ‘yung– alam nila ‘yung mga dinadaanan ng mga babae, monthly ganon.”
She then talked about the pressure and excitement she felt in doing a Girls Love episode for Love Bites.
“‘Yung First Love, Last Love kasi Girls Love po siya. Super nakaka-excite siya kasi hindi pa po masyadong nare-recognize sa Philippines ‘yung Girls Love. It’s very nakakakaba at the same time nakaka-excite, na binigyan kami ng ganitong project ng ABS-CBN.”
Felix then emphasized how their episode reflects the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people when they have their first love.
“Sobrang nakaka-excite na hindi porket LGBT ka or member ka ng community, wala ka ng– wala na ‘yung first love, hindi mo na mafe-feel ‘yung first love.
“Kung ano ‘yung mga nafe-feel ng cis-male or mga tao, ganon din tayo. May mga first love din tayo. Hindi tayo na-eexpect na sila pala, basta.”
Felix and Villalino star in an episode of the ABS-CBN and RCD Narratives creation, ‘Love Bites.’
The made-for-YouTube series streams on the Kapamilya YouTube channel starting September 16 and lasts up to November 2022.
