New Viva artist Bea Binene clarified what happened with her contract renewal with GMA Network at the media conference for her contract signing with Viva Artist Agency, with the press, including LionhearTV, on September 23.
Binene explained that she had concerns regarding the pandemic when her contract expired with GMA Network.
“First, I wouldn’t say na hindi ni-renew ‘yung contract ko because that time, since pandemic nga kasi, nakakatakot naman talaga, na mag-trabaho, ‘yun ‘yung maglo-lock in ka, since ‘yun ‘yung time na wala pa vaccine so medyo nakakatakot.
“Ibang-iba talaga siya eh, opposite talaga siya ng nakasanayan natin na mga tapings and all. So nakakatakot siya, so that time ang napag-usapan, since you’re not ano pa naman, kumbaga, medyo you’re still scared, ganyan-ganyan, hindi naman na ano na hindi ka nanamin ire-renew. Walang ganon.”
She then expressed gratitude for GMA Network while recounting her 18 years as a Kapuso.
“I’m very, very thankful, and forever thankful to GMA Network kasi nga I wouldn’t be here without them di ba? Parang ang tagal tagal na. Grabe, 2004, actually 18 years na sila ‘yung kasama ko. Parang dapat nga ‘yung mga certificate of recognition, sa mga employees, may binibigay na ganon. Parang may ganon na dapat ako, kasi nga as in literal na sa GMA ako pumayat, tumaba, lahat na.”
She also acknowledged that her time and career under GMA Network would always be a part of her.
“Sila ‘yung kasama ko, and I’m very much thankful and kahit ngayon na I’m being managed with VAA, I’ll be forever and I would still be a Kapuso na ‘yung parang nandoon ‘yung mga kaibigan ko, nandoon ‘yung mga nakasama ko sa trabaho, and ‘yung mga naging Tita, Tito na all through out my career. So talagang kumbaga, forever silang magiging part ng kung sino ako.”
Binene began her Kapuso journey in StarStruck Kids in 2004. She then worked on ‘Kilig… Pintig… Yanig…’ in the same year.
She also starred in various Kapuso series such as Reel Love Presents: Tween Hearts, Alice Bungisngis and her Wonder Walis, and ‘Carmela.
She was also in the GMA Network’s hit fantaseryes Mulawin VS Ravena, Luna Blanca, and Ilumina.
Earlier, rumors surfaced claiming that Binene was one of the artists that did not have their contract renewal with the Kapuso Network.
After a year away from showbiz due to the pandemic, Binene returns under the Viva Artist Agency.
