Kapuso actor Alden Richards recounted his reaction after seeing Start-Up‘s trailer for the first time at the media conference for the GMA Network series with the press, which included LionhearTV, on September 17.
Richards highlighted the quality of their upcoming Philippine adaptation and expressed how proud he felt of their Kapuso series.
“Opo kasi, hindi po ako nakakanood ng mga playbacks noong mga takes ng mga scenes na kinukunan namin so ‘yun ‘yung trailer lang talaga ‘yung unang beses ko napanood ‘yung mga nakunang eksena and we really can say that we have a show. We have show, we have something that we can be very proud of and ganon naman talaga eh.”
He then acknowledged the fans’ love for the K-Drama version of Start-Up.
“Hindi naman talaga natin masisisi ‘yung mga fans ng K-Drama version, kasi sobrang minahal nila ‘yung show, sobrang minahal nila ‘yung Korean Version ng Start Up, so sa kanila, parang to protect their love for the show, gusto rin nilang makita na ‘yung Philippine version ng Start Up would be worth their while, and kahit papaano, and based doon sa trailer na napanood natin, may laban po kami. May laban po ‘yung show.”
One topic discussed in the Korean version of the series is the importance of having a Sandbox that supports Start-Up companies.
He also discussed the value of having a real-life Sandbox for businesses in the Philippines.
“Parang dapat po, ‘yung Sandbox po kasi is a tool for the Filipinos who have dreams, especially when it comes to start ups na para magkaroon sila ng backbone. Kasi siyempre, of course, madali mangarap, pero kailangan din natin ng mga taong tutulong sa atin behind our backs, para ma-put into action itong mga pangarap nating ‘to. And I believe Sandbox is a tool for the Filipinos who aspire to be somebody na parang magkaroon ng guidance para matupad ‘yung mga pangarap nila.”
