The iconic building glowed in neon green light and bore the title of the Kapamilya TV show–DARNA on Thursday, September 1.
It is hard to deny September 1 was undoubtedly a Janella Salvador day, as the Kapamilya actress was visible across many platforms that day. It was part of ABS-CBN’s massive campaign to introduce Valentina, Salvador’s iconic villain role in the Network’s TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Darna.
A part of such an effort is the lighting up ABS-CBN’s corporate center, ELJ Building, in green and the letters of DARNA. In the past, the building has notably taken part in similar promotional strategies of the Network to promote some of its brands, including the Netflix series, Trese and the KathNiel-starrer, 2 Good 2 Be True, which saw the building light up in red.

Salvador’s highly anticipated first transformation as the snake-haired Valentina, also one of Ravelo’s most iconic characters, took place during the TV series’ September 1 episode. The scene sent the show’s official hashtag, #DarnaValentina, and other related topics to Twitter Philippines’ top trending topics chart. Netizens expressed their awe and excitement on Salvador’s feisty first transformation.
Given this development in Darna’s plot, things are expected to get more intense as the anticipated Darna versus Valentina rivalry gets nearer and nearer.
The coming episodes predicted to see the velvet superheroine finally confronting her fiercest and most dangerous adversary apart from other Ekstras (the group of villains) are also expected to add chaos and action in the upcoming episodes.
