Actress Angelu de Leon opens up about her plans for her acting career after she won as a councilor in Pasig City.
Although she is new in politics, de Leon still won as a councilor in Pasig. Rumors then spread that the actress will leave the entertainment industry.
In an interview with Surprise Guest by Pia Arcangel on August 17, de Leon addressed the rumors about her acting career.
She said that she can’t commit to soap operas yet as she does not want to be in a lock-in taping.
“Kasi ngayon ano pa rin ‘di ba, when we think about it, ‘yung mga tapings pa rin ng soap opera is always lock in, and I cannot afford to be [in] lock-in [tapings] as of the moment.
“Pero ang mga biro ko nga is okay lang ako mag-game show para may extra income… ‘Yung ganun, mga game show, Eat Bulaga, mga ganun, ‘yun puwede. Pero ‘yung sabihin natin magbabalik soap opera, medyo siguro hindi pa muna,” she said.
The actress will still stay in the showbiz industry although her current focus is the people of Pasig who trusted her.
De Leon also shared her experience during the campaign period. She said that she was happy to entertain the people.
“Yung election period, nakakatuwa kasi iba yung… dumating kasi ako sa punto na ako ‘yung nag-e-entertain ng crowd, hindi ako ang pulitiko kung hindi ako ‘yung entertainer sa mga kampanya.
“And then iba yung perception ko nung mga panahong ‘yon. Talagang kapag naririnig ko, nakikita ko ‘yung mga pulitiko, pulitiko talaga sila. Parang may stand sa pulitiko, may certain energy ng pulitiko. Nung si Mayor Vico Sotto yung nakasama ko sa kampanya, nagulat ako, kasi dito sa Pasig talaga, rockstar siya.”
