It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda lauded Herlene Nicole “Hipon Girl” Budol for her performance in the recently-held Bb. Pilipinas Coronation Night on Sunday, July 31.
Budol did an excellent job by clinching the first runner-up spot in the pageant. She also received seven special awards including Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice Awardee.
The comedian-turned-beauty queen even wowed the online audience with her desire to speak in Tagalog during the question and answer portion.
She was asked, “A beauty pageant is a space for transformation. What has been your biggest character transformation since you joined and how can this make you deserving of a crown tonight?”
Budol’s answer amazed the audience, admitting that joining the pageant became a way for her to inspire other people.
“Para sa akin, isang karangalan na nakatungtong ako dito sa Binibining Pilipinas bilang isang binibining hindi inaasahan. Para sa akin, ang sarap pa lang mangarap. Walang imposible. Isa po akong komedyante na laki sa hirap at ang aking transpormasyon ay magbigay ng inspirasyon because I know for myself that I’m uniquely beautiful with a mission.”
Meanwhile, It’s Showtime comedian host, on his Twitter, commended the Top 12 candidates, “Di ako aarte sa mga candidates! Magagaling magsalita. May talino at husay! Nakakatuwang makita na dumadami na din ang mga tulad kong perpek! Chozzzz!”

The host then expressed how happy he was after hearing that the first runner-up for the pageant was Budol.

Furthermore, Vice shared that Hipon Girl served as an example of the phrase, “nothing is impossible.”

Vice also said that all candidates deserved their spot in the Top 12. Budol then replied that she was among those contestants.

Meanwhile, Cebuana beauty queen Nicole Borromeo is the new Binibining Pilipinas-International. She will represent the Philippines in the 2023 Miss International, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
