Viva artist Sean De Guzman, on August 5, addressed who used their platform to powertrip.
At the media conference for The Influencer with members of the entertainment press, including LionhearTV, De Guzman shared his advice to fellow influencers who irresponsibly use their platforms.
“Ah ‘yung mga ganong influencer kasi minsan walang–wala namang katuturan ‘yung mga pinaggagawa nila so, so minsan kasi may mga taong naaliw din kasi sa kanila di ba? So para sa akin, ‘wag na lang nila gawin kasi wala namang maidudulot na maganda sa mga taong nakakapanood sa kanila, di ba?”
He then talked about his role in the movie and how it relates to those social media personalities who abuse their influence over the public.
“Tinatalakay din dito ‘yung sa mga influencer na tine-take advantage nila ‘yung kasikatan nila para makakuha sila–maka-hook up sila ng mga babae.”
He then reminded fellow influencers about their responsibility to be role models to their followers.
“Medyo po, as an influencer po kasi sa panahon natin ngayon, ang mga influencer po talaga ay nakaka-influence ng mga nakakapanood sa atin. Dapat tayo ‘yung role model, so as my work ngayon, ‘yun ‘yung ginagampanan ko.”
De Guzman has over 114 thousand followers on Instagram and 540 thousand followers on Tiktok.
