On August 20, Kapuso star Ruru Madrid admitted that his role in Lolong is his most tiring yet.
At a media conference in Davao with the press, including LionhearTV, Madrid cited the challenges he faced portraying his role in the Kapuso series.
“Kahit siguro pagsamasamahin lahat ng mga projects na ginawa ko for the past ten years, ito ‘yung pinakanakakapagod. Nakakapagod siya physically, mentally, emotionally kasi siyempre nasa lock-in kami, at the same time, ginagawa namin ‘yung show sa gitna ng pandemic. At the same time, sobrang ma-action ‘to. Ayaw kong mabalewala ‘yung tiwala na binigay sa akin ng GMA, so talagang binuhos ko dito.”
He then talked about his daily preparations, especially for his fight scenes in the action-packed series.
“Sometimes gumigising ako ng maagang maaga para lang i-ready ko ‘yung sarili ko, aaralin ko ‘yung mga fights scenes na gagawin ko. Inaaral ko ‘yung mga emotion na kailangan ko ibigay sa bawat eksena na gagawin ko. At hindi ‘yun doon tumigil doon. eh.”
He then attributed his motivation to continue despite the challenge to his co-stars in Lolong.
“Work for me, kahit na nasa lock-in kami sobrang nakakapagod, din siya dahil siyempre, malayo ka sa pamilya mo. And, good thing din na ‘yung samahan naming lahat, sa cast ng Lolong, maging sa staff, sa crew, everyone, naging sobrang okay namin. Kaya parang naging tahanan namin ‘yung isa’t isa noong mga panahon na ‘yun. Kaya kahit paano nababawasan ‘yung pagod na nararamdaman namin.”
He then noted the significance of the Kapuso action-adventure series.
“Kaya hindi ako magdadalawang isip na tanggapin ‘yung show na ‘to. Dahil siyempre it’s a big show, at si Miss Jessica Soho po ‘yung isa sa mga nag-conceptualize ng show na ‘to. So napakalaki po ng opportunity na ‘to para sa akin.”
Ruru Madrid stars in the Kapuso action-adventure series, Lolong. The cast also includes Shaira Diaz, Arra San Agustin, Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Marco Alcaraz, Mikoy Morales, and Maui Taylor.
In their newest arc, Lolong introduced new cast members through Vin Abrenica, Thea Tolentino, Alma Concepcion, Rafael Rosell, and Lucho Ayala.
