Nothing can bring down the Filipino fighting spirit as two polio-stricken athletes prove their capabilities through sports this Sunday (August 28) in Noli de Castro’s “KBYN: Kaagapay ng Bayan.”
Despite their incurable illness, silver medalist Adeline Ancheta and gold medalist Jerrold Mangliwan continue to bring honor to the country as they join international competitions like the Asean Para Games. Ancheta and Mangliwan made themselves known as a power lifter and a wheelchair racer, respectively.
Viewers will witness another one-of-a-kind story of hope as the “KBYN” team meets three siblings from Ocampo, Camarines Sur who continue to survive despite having cerebral palsy. Out of the ten Dacer siblings, sisters Narcisa, Maribel, Maria Angge, and another sibling who already passed away, have been stricken with the disease. But still they maintain a positive outlook in life because of the love and care they receive from their eldest sister Richel.
As a way of supporting the family, the team donates sacks of rice and groceries to help in their daily needs.
Meanwhile, Kabayan teaches viewers the organic and natural process of raising free range chickens, as Filipinos become more and more health conscious nowadays. Wyden King of King’s Natural Farm and Tina Pamora of Pamora Farm show Noli the ins and outs of this chemical-free, plus stress-free, chicken farming.
