Maja Salvador and her fiancé-TV producer Rambo Nuñez Ortega, shared on Wednesday, August 3 the discoveries they had after getting engaged.
On April 17 of this year, the couple decided that they are ready to tie the knot.
During the virtual media conference for their upcoming sitcom Oh My Korona, Salvador felt that her hubby was (really) head-over-heels for her.
“Hindi naman nag-iba. Mas minamahal pa ako lalo ni Rambo, huwow! Hahaha!”
She also realized that she wants Ortega to be the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
“Ayun, mas alam na namin na eto na talaga, mas ‘yung responsibility, obligation namin sa isa’t-isa ay legit na legit na. So wala nang atrasan. Ever since naman since nag-start ang relationship namin, alam namin na dito kami papunta.”
The sitcom is a project that the couple came up with. According to the TV producer, working together is a step closer to being “partners for life.”
Being in a relationship and being engaged are two different things, especially now that they are ready to take bigger steps toward their life and career.
“Siguro, isa ito sa part ng process na iyon na nga, doon na talaga kami papunta. Coz’ ‘yung mga projects na ginagawa namin together, ‘di ba parang ‘yun din ang ginagawa ng mga kumbaga partners mo for life.
“Hindi lang kayo sa maliliit na bagay but you already take risks together. So siguro in terms of process, ito na iyong part na iyon, ng acceptance namin, na doon na kami papunta.
“Kaya itong project na ito, parang baby namin. So ganoon na siguro ang difference at this point.”
Furthermore, the couple has the sense to separate life from work. Salvador said that she gives the responsibility to Ortega in terms of managing the show.
“Surprisingly, nagagawa naman. Ewan ko. Siguro ang laking tulong na artista talaga ako. Na kapag nasa set ako ng sitcom, artista ako. Then after, pagka-pack up, tsaka ako magche-check sa kung anong nangyayari sa production, or mag-update, silip-silip. Parang mas ibinibigay ko iyon sa kanila.”
Ortega added, “Actually, it’s been easy. Kasi nga, si Maja is very professional naman. So I guess, if we have the same goal, ‘di ba? ‘Yung gusto naming mapaganda, parang we know how to set ‘yung priorities namin na, ‘Okay, trabaho muna tayo.’
“‘We know that this is very important.’ Not just…kumbaga important siya sa amin both professionally and personally. So I guess ‘yung intention namin is always there. Which makes it easier for the best of us.”
As for the wedding date, the couple has yet to decide when and where. They are currently busy with Oh My Korona and their attention is solely focused on making the show great.
“Hindi, wala pa kaming listahan ng kung anu-ano. Kasi naka-focus muna kami dito sa launch ng Oh My Korona. But after, ‘yon, wala na kaming choice. ‘Yun nga, mag-focus na kami sa wedding namin,” explained the actress.
As for her friend Maine Mendoza’s engagement, Salvador refused to share any details as to how actor Arjo Atayde proposed.
“Gusto ko naman na ibigay sa kanya muna. Because alam kong nasa cloud nine pa sila. Ganyan na ganyan din po ako noon eh. But I’m sure, in time, si Maine and Arjo mismo ang magbibigay details kung paano ang nangyari, ‘wag muna nating pangunahan,” she pointed out.
Oh My Korona also includes Joey Marquez, RK Bagatsing, Kakai Bautista, Pooh, Christine Samson, Jai Agpangan, Queenay Mercado, Guel Espina, Jessie Salvador, and Thou Reyes.
The sitcom will begin on Saturday, August 6, at 7:30 p.m., only on TV5.
