On July 7, Kapamilya director Chad Vidanes and He’s Into Her writer Vanessa Valdez confirmed the fate of the popular teen show.
During the media conference for the He’s Into Her’s finale trailer, Valdez verified that ‘as far as she knows,’ the second season of the beloved series would be its last.
“As far as I know, this is the last episode of He’s Into Her. So the very last, I don’t know what– kasi ganon din naman ‘yung feeling ko noong first season eh. Akala ko ‘yun rin ‘yung last. But for this season, we really wrote it, directed it that it’s going to be the finale, the last season of HIH.”
Vidanes expressed his interest in fleshing out other storylines in the series.
“Ako personally, I would like to explore the arc of MichiDale and LeeYsayNaih, kasi feeling ko may mailalalabas pa more doon sa stories nila. Siguro gusto ko ring itry gawan ng story si Lorde, as in solo Lorde, kasi I feel na kahit ganyan si Lorde, mayroon ‘yan depth. ayun po.”
Valdez echoed the series director about listing the characters they want to include in a spin-off series.
“Similar kay Direk, I actually want to do shorts. I want to do shorts for Lee, Naih and Isay, Lorde and Chloe, Randall and Kim, Michiko and Dale, even Dale and Dom–even Migz and Elle because alam ko may following ‘yun ‘yung MigElle. I want to do that.
“The thing I really wanted to do, which is why we explored the story of the parents,–if kung pwede lang talaga, I want to go back Benison ’97, because the parents’ story, grabe ang daming invested. Lalo na ‘yung episode 7 noong nagkaroon ng selosan with headmaster so interesting din na i-explore ‘yun.”
Valdez also stated that the series’ expansion would indicate that the network could launch new artists.
“Kasi, for me, the reason that I want to do something like that as well is that it will also be a chance to launch new people, the way we launched new actors dito sa HIH.
“If I’m excited with anything– or if I’m interested with anything, it is that. It’s another way to tell the story of HIH or expand HIH universe and give more young people an opportunity to shine.”
Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, otherwise known as DonBelle, star in the second season of He’s Into Her.
The cast includes other young Kapamilya artists such as Dalia Varde, Kaori Oinuma, Jeremiah Lisbo, Joao Constancia, Criza Taa, Vivoree Esclito, Mikha Lim, Ashley Del Mundo, Gello Marquez, Limer Veloso, Rajo Serrano, and Turs Daza.
