The August 10 episode of the soon-to-conclude Kapamilya series featured brutal torture and rape scenes, which triggered many netizens.
Viewers of the seven-year-old action-drama series were taken aback by the brutal scenes featured in its August 10 episode.
Titled Huling Misyon, the said episode saw members of the Task Force Agila falling into a trap and eventually getting captured by the combined sinister forces of Renato Hipolito (John Arcilla), Eduardo Ignacio (Roi Vinzon), and Lucio Santanar (Raymond Bagatsing).
The group led by P/Maj. Victor A. Basco (Raymart Santiago) and P/Maj. Roxanne Opeña (Shaina Magdayao) got cornered by Hipolito’s men when they tried freeing the hostages. What happened next was something both members of the Task Force Agila and the viewers would despise and make Santanar, Ignacio, and Hipolito pay for their lives.
Among those who received the biggest commendations from netizens is Shaina Magdayao, whose character, Roxanne, was raped by Santanar in front of her lover, P/Maj. Basco.
“Shaina Magdayao really went off and delivered, undeniably one of the best actresses of our time,” said Twitter user @darnarchives.

SuperMario could not help himself but wished for Santanar and Hipolito to get punished because of the despicable crimes they did.
“I hope Renato Hipolito and Lucio Santanar will rot in hell for their massive crimes they committed against the nation. Their victims’ souls would rest peacefully from the hands of these evil individuals,” he tweeted.

A furious Inigo Sim warned Hipolito and his cohorts that they would soon face the same tragic fate that brought down Cardo Dalisay’s previous enemies.
“RENATO HIPOLITO, TANDAAN MO TO, KAHIT ANONG PAGPAPAHIRAP ANG GAWIN NINYO, HINDI KAYO MANANALO YOU RETARDED BUFFOONS! MAGSAMA KAYO NILA ART, ARMANDO, JOAQUIN, LITO, ALBERT, VERA, STANLEY, HOMER AT BUNGO SA IMPYERNO! YOU RETARD!”

Critinessi noted how the events in the series reflected the atrocities during the Martial Law years. “Watching “Ang Probinsyano” and triggering my fear of brutality because THIS ALSO HAPPENED IN REAL LIFE DURING MARTIAL LAW.“

Meanwhile, Kevlcrose, noticed how the series opted to show some parts of the torture in black and white.
“Ang probinsiyano so fucking gore they had to make the scene black and white. Damn,” he shared in a tweet.

Jenny understood why the series is giving it all in terms of violence and gore.
“Ang Probinsiyano is on I want to watch it but I can’t but I really want to watch it so I had to switch channels every 3 seconds
That’s how conflicted I was!
Oh well, after 7 long years, they really need to give it all out and end with a bang, right?”
