Marco Gumabao on Tuesday, August 2 dismissed the speculation that he will be making his way to GMA Network following his appearance in its 72nd Thanksgiving Gala.
Gumabao, together with Viva stars Billy Crawford and Christine Reyes graced the Kapuso event last Saturday, July 30, which led to rumors that they may be going to the Kapuso Network.
However, the actor during the press conference for his upcoming movie Baby Boy, Baby Girl, stressed that it’s not happening.
“In terms po sa paglipat sa GMA-7, wala pa naman kaming talks with Viva,” he explained. “I was invited sa ball dahil po may project po ako na gagawin with GMA in collaboration with Viva.”
He was referring to the partnership between GMA Network and Viva Films to bring the latter’s movies to the Kapuso channel.
Regarding the project, Gumabao did not reveal the project he was about to do. However, he is open to working with one of GMA Network’s brightest stars—Sanya Lopez.
“I would love to work with Sanya given the chance. Kasi she’s also one of the pinakasikat ngayon sa GMA and at the same time, she came from a very hit show which is ‘yung First Yaya and First Lady.
“So it would be an honor to work with her. Depende na lang po sa Viva and sa GMA kung ano ang magiging plano. Basta po ako, whatever they tell me, ready naman po ako.”
In the meantime, the actor is busy with his latest movie Baby Boy, Baby Girl. It tells the story of sugar babies and is directed by Direk John Paul Laxamana.
Gumabao is also joined by beauty queen-turned-actress Kylie Versoza in this film.
They will begin their production in the second week of August.
