Speculations arose on Wednesday, August 10, that Kapamilya star Liza Soberano will star in the movie Lisa Frankenstein with Hollywood artists Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton.
The rumor began after Jessie Stafford of the event production JSLA Events tagged the Kapamilya actress on her Instagram stories.
In the post, a clapper with the movie’s title got posted. Stafford then mentioned the IG handles of Soberano and Zelda Williams, Lisa Frankenstein‘s director.
Furthermore, Soberano and Sprouse began following each other on Instagram, strengthening the speculation.

This could be the start of Soberano’s journey to Hollywood as mentioned previously by James Reid. He believed that the actress has the capabilities to find success on the international scene.
“That’s one of our goals… she told me when she signed, ‘I want you to help me go international.’
“After that trip, I really believe that if there is going to be a Filipino artist that will really break internationally, and represent the Philippines, it will be Liza, more than me I think. I think she really has the potential to go international,” he said during the actress’s media launch as part of Careless Music last June 20.
On Instagram today, Liza Soberano confirmed that she will be joining Carla Gugino, Joe Chrest and Henry Eikenberry in the upcoming horror-comedy film ‘Lisa Frankenstein.’
In the comments section, one of the stars of the movie Kathryn Newton commented, “I’m ecstatic your a part of this film!!!!”

‘Lisa Frankenstein’ is set in the year 1989. It follows an unpopular high school student (Newton) who accidentally brings back to life a handsome Victorian corpse (Sprouse), then rebuilds him to be the man of her dreams using a broken tanning bed.
