On August 8, artist-model Lindt Johnston reacted to her boyfriend Kurt Kendrick’s daring scenes with his projects.
At the media event for AQ Prime with select members of the entertainment press, including LionhearTV, Johnston expressed her support for Kendrick with his project under the streaming app.
“Surprising, but at the same time, knowing him kasi, I’m proud of how he’s also displaying his craft and his work. I mean siyempre dito rin ako sa industriyang ‘to so I’ll be able to understand it and support it kasi gusto ko din in the future. Like, I guess, that’s how we work. We support each other with our work, with our craft.”
Kendrick highlighted how he and Johnston support each other with their projects.
“Before naman na tinanggap ko ‘yung project, sinabi ko sa kanya. I didn’t ask for her permission because I knew that she was going to support me because before naman mag-start ‘yung relationship namin, ‘yun na ‘yung usapan namin. We’re going to support each other. As long as magbe-benefit ‘yung isa, isa sa amin or both of us.”
Johnston then discussed the benefit of having a relationship with a partner from the same industry.
“I guess that’s what’s nice when you’re in a relationship with someone in the same industry, the same line of work. You can openly talk about your concerns or about your dreams. And ang sa amin naman, we both believe na work is work. What happened on set–that’s on set. Sa amin, ang personal lives namin are separate.”
She then recalled how Kendrick helped her get into talks with AQ Prime.
“Well, with my boyfriend actually, si Kurt, so he does movies with AQ and during one of the birthday parties of his co-workers, sinama niya ako sa office and then they all said–they talked to me, asking kung if I want to try. Sabi ko, ‘why not?'”
Kendrick then emphasized that it was Johnston’s choice to work with the streaming app.
“It’s always her choice. Ako nagkataon lang na sinama ko siya for education, it’s just so happen na nandoon sila Attorney, Directors and everyone. Tapos we talked to them.
“For me, naman, if she wanted to join AQ, I’d support her a 100%, sabi ko naman sa kaniya, as long as it’s work, no matter what you do, whether it’s school, I’ll always be there for you.”
Lindt Johnston’s screenname before leaving GMA Network was Lindsay De Vera.
