August 12, 2022, marked the finale for the longest-running Kapamilya series on TV, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. However, the action-drama series couldn’t take the title of the longest-running series from the GMA Network afternoon teleserye, Daisy Siete.
Daisy Siete is a Kapuso Anthology series that started on September 1, 2003, and ended on July 2, 2010. The guilty siesta pleasure of many Kapuso viewers aired 1,999 episodes in its 26-season run.
The series starred the Sex Bomb Dancers, an all-girl dance group from the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Their members include Rochelle Pangilinan, Che-Che Tolentino, Jopay Paguia, Aira Bermudez, Johlan Veluz, Monic Icban, Sunshine Garcia, Evette Pabalan, and others.
As for FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the series may have ten more days than Daisy Siete, with its pilot date on September 28, 2015, and up to August 12, 2022. However, the Kapamilya action-drama series had 1691 episodes and lasted nine seasons.
Coco Martin starred throughout the series and took on the undying action hero Cardo Dalisay. Aside included Susan Roces, Yassi Pressman, Julia Montes, Jaime Fabregas, John Prats, and many more.
Third on the list is Anna Luna. The series ran from November 27, 1989, to September 29, 1995. The series aired on ABS-CBN from 1989 to 1994 and then on RPN9 from 1994 to 1995.
The series starred Margarita Fuentes, Ricky Belmonte, and Melissa Mendez. Anna Luna previously held the longest Kapamilya teleserye before FPJAP’s almost seven-year run.
Next on the list is Mara Clara. The series starring Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes ran from August 17, 1992, to February 14, 1997. The Kapamilya teleserye had 1,165 episodes.
Taking the fifth spot is Esperanza. The Kapamilya series ran from February 17, 1997, to July 23, 1999, and starred Judy Ann Santos after her stint in Mara Clara. The teleserye had 628 episodes.
Finally, another long-running series on the list is Be Careful With My Heart, starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, Janella Salvador, Marlo Mortel, Mutya Orquia, and Jerome Ponce. The series ran from July 9, 2012, to November 28, 2014, and aired 618 episodes.
Despite the Kapuso Network still holding the spot for the longest-running teleserye in the Philippines, the Kapamilya Network still had several long-running productions.
