The film Underage follows the story of three sisters who grew up in the province but had to transfer to Manila. From there, they go through the struggles of teenagers, especially in the aspect of love.

In 1991, Regal Films produced a spin-off for Underage titled Underage Too with Ruffa Gutierrez, Carmina Villarroel, and Aiko Melendez as the lead stars. It was directed by Maryo J. delos Reyes.
The ABS-CBN was the first to create a television remake for Underage in 2009 under its weekly umbrella series Your Song presents.
It was a nine-episode show with Melissa Ricks portraying the role of Bonnevie, Empress Schuck as the role of Soriano, and Lauren Young the role of Serna in the original film. Manny Palo directed the show.
