On July 7, Kapamilya stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (DonBelle) talked about the success of their tandem.
During the media conference for He’s Into Her‘s finale, Belle admitted she initially had doubts regarding the success of her pairing with Donny.
“Honestly, noong una hindi ko mapigilan na magka-doubt pa rin. Especially when He’s Into Her was launched, a lot of bashing, ‘yung feedback nila medyo negative, but now that we’re actually here, I’m just so thankful.”
She thanked the showrunners, the cast, and the supporters for helping the DonBelle pair.
“I’m so thankful for Direk and Miss Van and everyone, the cast, sa lahat ng bumubuo ng He’s Into Her, and of course, the supporters, maraming maraming salamat. I’ll always say na wala po kami dito kung wala kayo, and totoo po ‘yun.”
Donny noted that he never expected the success of their pairing while citing the milestones of He’s Into Her.
“Siyempre we never expected na this could happen even noong season one noong nandoon kami sa conference room. I remember the announcement– we had no idea that we would even reach this point, season two. Sixteen episodes, di ba Miss Van? We didn’t know.
“So we really thought na hanggang doon lang, we didn’t really know how the audience would accept it, but we could only hope.”
The DonBelle love team gained popularity thanks to their series He’s Into Her. Their success landed them follow-up projects such as Love is Color is Blind.
The series, directed by Chad Vidanes, also included other young Kapamilya artists such as Dalia Varde, Kaori Oinuma, Jeremiah Lisbo, Joao Constancia, Criza Taa, Vivoree Esclito, Mikha Lim, Ashley Del Mundo, Gello Marquez, Limer Veloso, Rajo Serrano, and Turs Daza.
