On August 18, Thursday, GMA Network showed Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards leading its upcoming remake of the hit Korean series Start-Up though many disagreed that the former is too old to portray the character of Bae Suzy.
Previously, Solis lambasted Alonzo through an Instagram post, pointing out that the actress does not have the looks nor the age to be paired with Richards.
Kahit kapal make up, palitada face, ang wrinkles nanduon na noh !

But through a July 28 post on Instagram, the showbiz columnist recanted what she earlier said after realizing that there is good chemistry between Alonzo and Richards. Solis, however, stood by her opinion that the actor should have been paired with a younger actress.

Another allegation was that the actor’s face did not match the original’s mature features, leading to some scenes being retaken.
The Kapuso Network just released a 30-second teaser, proving that the two looked good together, unlike what showbiz columnist Lolit Solis and netizens have claimed. This also marks the actress’s return to primetime after becoming a Kapuso in 2021.
Apart from Alonzo and Richards, Jeric Gonzales and Yasmien Kurdi are part of the main cast. The series is directed by Dominic Zapata and will soon air on GMA Network in September.
