Rival teleserye’s Darna and Lolong both win in their respective “worlds.”
Since its pilot episode on August 15, Darna consistently flies high in online views drowning its Kapuso rival Lolong.
With the big shoe to fill, Darna proved to be a suitable timeslot replacement for FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as it continues to attract many online viewers. Its pilot week, for instance, smashed a whopping 41 million views on Youtube.
The Kapamilya action-hero serye also consistently averaged 230 thousand live concurrent views per episode on Kapamilya Online Live compared to Lolong’s 14 thousand average.
While Darna owns the digital world, Lolong, on the other hand, comfortably rules traditional TV viewing.
A tweet by GMA Public Affairs boasts of Lolong’s projected 13 million viewers per episode as measured by the Nielsen NUTAM survey.
With more than 13 MILLION TV VIEWERS PER EPISODE sa Total Phils., ramdam namin ang dambuhalang pagmamahal ninyo sa #Lolong! 💚
Maraming salamat sa inyong walang sawang suporta, mga Kapuso! Tumutok lang tuwing 8PM sa GMA at 9:40PM sa GTV! 🐊 pic.twitter.com/8JZldsERph

Lolong also eats-up rival Darna in the rating game as it leads the Kapamilya action-hero serye with big gaps on its pilot week.
On Monday, August 15, Lolong scored 17.3 vs. Darna’s 10.5. It was followed by 15.7% vs. 10.6% on Tuesday and 16.7% vs. 10.9% on Wednesday.
For Thursday, August 18, Lolong remains the rating winner with 16.7% vs. Darna’s 10.8%, and on Friday, Lolong scored 16.5 vs. Darna’s 11.1%.
However, it’s good to note the unequal footing in the rating game.
With Darna airing over block time agreement with TV5 and A2Z, which have a combined reach of 17 analogs and 18 digital stations nationwide, it’s understandable to rate lower than Lolong, which enjoys GMA’s 52 analog and 13 digital stations in the country.
