“Pinoy Big Brother” alumnus Benedix Ramos joins fellow “PBB” alumni Karina Bautista and Anji Salvacion in hosting the new season of ABS-CBN’s online talent search “Bida Star” ” starting September 5.
Called “Bida Star Versus,” the fifth season of the competition will see male contestants going against female contestants to determine the next Ultimate Bida Star.
“‘Bida Star Versus’ allows anyone to be part of the contest kahit hindi ka part ng kahit anong talent agency or wala kang formal training. They will hone your talents. ‘Bida Star Versus’ will help you reach your artista dreams,” said Benedix.
According to Karina, the show has levelled up and widened its reach through different digital platforms such as kumu, Facebook, and Tiktok in order to cater to more dreamers.
Aside from the battle between the contestants, she said that viewers should also watch out for Live Callbacks, wherein the first batch of Male and Female auditionees will perform on Kumu. The top earning Male and Female auditionee will get a guaranteed spot in the top 40. There are also Bida Challenges – themed challenges uploaded by the contestants to their respective Tiktok accounts and are equivalent to a certain amount of vote points.
“If you don’t start now, when? Right now, has never happened before, and now will never come again. Just believe in yourself and take that first step. Kasi marami ang nangarap pero takot sila magtake ng step. This is a sign to take that step,” Anji shared.
The contestants are in for an exciting journey with their judges, which include Star Magic Workshops Head and Acting Mentor Rahyan Carlos, unit head of “Pinoy Big Brother” Marcus Vinuya, and a weekly celebrity guest judge from Star Magic. The “Bida Star” winner will win an ABS-CBN management contract, Star Magic Workshop Scholarship, guesting in other ABS-CBN digital shows, a chance to have a project with PIE channel, and a cash prize of P50,000.
For the past four seasons, “Bida Star” Star has fulfilled the dreams of young and talented Filipinos like Dustine Mayores, a former “PBB” kumunity teen housemate, and Ruth Paga, who is now a regular host on PIE.
