On Wednesday, August 17, Alice Dixson justified her decision to wear a yellow gown during the GMA Network Thanksgiving Gala held at Shangri-La The Fort.
Recently, Dixson and Michael V. were criticized for not following the event’s motif. According to the electronic invitation sent to the attendees, the theme was Hollywood black and white.
Now that the criticism had come to the actress’s attention, she took to Instagram to explain the reason for her gown that night.
In her post, Dixson clarified that before deciding what to wear, she researched the meaning of the theme, which basically meant a “formal event.”
“For me (and I also looked it up ha!) ang isang Formal Black and White event is simply that,
a formal event,” wrote the actress. “[Plus] Nowhere on any of [the] invitations that I received (attached) did it say you could only wear black and white!”
Furthermore, as per the actress’s understanding, the invitation did not specifically state that the event should only be black and white.
For her part, Dixson accomplished what the event was all about: to “give thanks, mingle and meet my colleagues and the bosses, and have fun.”
Ending her post, she called out her critics, advising them haters not to be judgemental.
“Kayo mga bashers, anong nagawa nyo??? Pls Lang huwag nmn kasi kayo masyado judgmental. Peace & Thank you.”
