On August 11, Tropang LOL host Matteo Guidicelli pranked his co-host-Alex Gonzaga by seemingly calling out the vlogger for her insensitive behavior, only to end with a punchline about her toenails.
However, the prank resulted in a 26-second clip that only showed Gonzaga getting ostracized on live TV.
Alex Gonzaga getting called out for her trapo behavior. Isang napakalaking dasurv. I just cant get her humor. Super irritating talaga si ate gurl. pic.twitter.com/RVsdPmBpaG

The clip went viral on social media, putting Gonzaga on the receiving end of backlash, with the consensus of the netizens saying that the vlogger-host deserved the criticism.
Their fellow host KC Montero explained the situation expressing sympathy for Gonzaga.
I feel pretty bad for Alex Gonzaga right now. The video going around right now was a clearly joke. If you could watch the video in its entirety you could see that.

He even shared a full clip of the prank to clarify their intent at the time.
So here’s the video in its entirety, clearly it was a joke from the beginning. It was a prank but unfortunately some edited the video. Meanwhile Alex Gonzaga is being bashed this. pic.twitter.com/RrsGyhme9A

Guidicelli also came to Gonzaga’s defense via a TV5 News statement.
“There’s a lot of people that say negative things about her [Alex Gonzaga-. I just want to clear the air and everything.
“Tropang LOL is an entertainment show and clips were coming out, naputol siya, without the punchline in the end e… na, ‘Let’s just joke around your toenails, Alex.’”
Montero also weighed on the issue through his Facebook post, calling out those who edited the video to apologize to Gonzaga.
“Alex Gonzaga is being bashed so hard online now for a video that’s going around.
“An edited video not showing what really happened. But here’s the real video that shows that the ‘serious’ talk was just a setup for a prank.
“Many people calling for a public apology when really they should be saying sorry to her now.”
Before its rebranding, Tropang LOL or Lunch Out Loud at the time also got called out for one of their pranks, showing two of their hosts seemingly having a confrontation on TV.
