Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos is confirmed to make a TV comeback via ABS-CBN.
On August 21, via a text message, Santos revealed that nothing is final yet.
“Nagkakaroon ng meeting with Kapamilya but…pinag-uusapan pa lang. Thanks! [heart emoji].”
Santos was supposed to lead a sitcom on the Kapamilya Network with her son Luis Manzano.
Manzano did not push through with the project since his wife, Jessy Mendiola is pregnant.
As of now, ABS-CBN is finding a show for Santos for her to make a grand TV comeback.
At nine, Santos started as a child actress in Trudis Liit (1963), where she won her first FAMAS best child actress award.
Her next projects were Sa Bawat Pintig ng Puso (1964), Maria Cecilia (1965), Kasalanan Kaya? (1968), Iginuhit ng Tadhana (1965), Pinagbuklod ng Langit (1969).
Some of Santos’s remarkable works included Haplos (1982), Kapag Langit ang Humatol (1990), Anak (2000), and Dekada ’70 (2002).
Santos also portrayed the Pinoy superheroine Darna four times. First, it was in Lipad, Darna, Lipad (1973), Darna and the Giants (1973), Darna versus the Planet Women (1975), and Darna at Ding (1980).
In 1998, Santos entered politics and ran for the mayoral post of Lipa City, Batangas. She won three consecutive elections.
