There are other ways to make sure that your Bohol trip is worthwhile, but having AirAsia around is a surefire, top-tier choice you that one can’t say no to at all.

Whether you’re making your dream Bohol adventure alone or with friends, having a reliable itinerary to go along your trip, can definitely ensure the fun let alone make it much easier and more convenient.
Good thing, AirAsia is around to help you plan your next trip and make it more memorable. I personally experienced having AirAsia Philippines in my late June trip to Bohol, and I am telling you that it is one great choice, that you can not afford to make. Still unconvinced? Maybe my personal itinerary below can make you book a flight to Bohol this instant!
Once you’ve book your next flight with AirAsia’s SuperApp, you better prepare yourself for a fun-filled, adrenaline-driven, and also curiosity-nourishing adventure of a lifetime:
Our first day is both a trip down memory lane and a much-needed commune with nature. AirAsia flew us straight from Manila to Tagbilaran, and we wasted no time in preparing ourselves for a whole day of fun. At around 11am, we have already begun our trip to the past with our Blood Compact Shrine stop.
History practically unfolded in front of my eyes as I learned how the Sandugo, the historic blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Villalobos, sealed the friendship between the Spanish conquistadors and native Boholanons. A majestic statue depicting Sikatuna and Lopez, captures the tension and festive mood of that historical moment.
At Baclayon, the La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church stands as a mighty testament to our 400-year long Catholic faith. Built under the leadership of Jesuit missionaries, the Church have gone through numerous destruction and renovations throughout its long history. What struck me the most and had my jaw dropped, are its iconic facade and elaborate interiors, that are mostly made up of coral stones and neo-classical materials. It is no-wonder that the National Historical Institute declared it as one of the country’s cultural treasure.
We moved to the St. Augustine Church in Panglao, which is also known for its vivid neoclassical architecture. The church’s 5-story bell tower is a personal favorite. I got awestruck by its twin wooden antique confessionals, as well as its ceiling murals that depict the Seven Holy Sacraments of the Catholic Church.
After our historic trip, our adventure shifted to nature at last, and what better way to begin it other than dealing with one of my worst fears—snakes! Snakes are truly one of nature’s most terrifying predators. But in Albuquerque, terror conjures beauty. At the Bohol Python and Wildlife Park, the real attraction is its reticulated beasts. The conservation site was once home to the world’s largest python in captivity, Prony.
No trip to Bohol is complete, without tarsier-viewing, hence me making sure it was not skipped on my itinerary. The Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary in Corella offered us an immersive experience with the hundred-millimeter tall creature, that was unforgettable—at least, in my case.
Our immersion with nature continued with Bohol’s Man-made Forest, a tranquil sanctuary of densely-arranged Mahogany trees. It is a great spot for those who just want to enjoy the calming wonders of nature, by breathing its fresh air and hearing the soothing animal sounds.
At the Butterfly Garden in Bilar, hundreds of beautiful and vividly-colored butterflies, fly freely in its gentle expanse. A feeding area, a breeding facility, and a product workshop for the butterflies allow visitors to fully communicate with these wonderful creatures. It was in fact, one of the highlights of my Bohol trip!
Surely, a trip to Bohol can never be as satisfying as with the world-famous Chocolate Hills, as one of your stops. My time gazing at the rounded grassy ‘chocolatey’ spectacle was truly a memorable experience. The enchanting landscape that the hills’ almost symmetrical shapes and formations are a magical wonder you just can’t afford to miss when visiting Bohol.
At lunch, we had an unforgettable gastronomic trip in Loboc, where we got treated to a satiating feast buffet at RioVerde, the Loboc River Floating Restaurant. Of course, the live music was also there to make the experience much more memorable.
After lunch, we headed straight to Danao Adventure Park, where numerous adrenaline-pumped activities awaited us. Their Eco-Adventure tour package is a top-notch choice for everyone who aspires to commune with nature, while also having fun times with physical activities.
At the Antequera weaving community, the artistic side of the Boholanons is front and center. I had the chance to see their handicrafts and delicately-woven masterpieces.
From bags to furniture, to even fashion accessories, the community is a goldmine of artistic wonders that completely put the gifts of nature to good use. Their handicrafts are made of natural materials, including rattan, bamboo, and a lot more.
Our day ended on a high note with delectable treats at the Bohol Bee Farm. Accommodation is top notch and the dining experience is on an entirely different level. Dishes made of organic ingredients are front and center on their menu. I enjoyed my time there, especially since I was able to fulfill my starved stomach with mouthwatering goodness such as muffins and lasagna.
