On the latest episode of the Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime on Wednesday, July 20, Vice Ganda joked about not being a fan of their newest timeslot.
The show previously made its way to TV5, making back-to-back episodes with the Kapatid Network’s noontime variety show Lunch Out Loud (LOL). However, the Kapamilya program was slated from 12:45 p.m until 3:00 p.m.
During the It’s Showtime’s segment Palarong Pang-Madla Vest in Spelling, Vice joked about their new timeslot. This was after he misspelled the word “incense.”
“Osige, aaminin ko, hindi ko alam na S pala iyon. Hindi ko alam na S pala yung incense akala ko C.”
He added, “Oo, hindi na talaga ako nagigising ng maaga. Sabi sa inyo, mas magaling ako kapag naghahabol ng oras.”
His joke did not stop from there.
After they spelled “fuchsia” incorrectly, Vice Ganda complained jokingly, “Alam mo, ayoko talaga ng timeslot na ‘to, charot!”
It was a joke, apparently as the Kapamilya host said, “Charot lang, kayo talaga.”
He ended it with another pun, saying, “Mas magaling ako sa 12 o’clock, hahaha!”
Before coming to TV5, It’s Showtime had a running time of 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. (150 minutes). But as it moved to the Kapatid Network, and shared the airtime with LOL, it was reduced to 135 minutes.
The new timeslot also caused an issue as the show was recently cut off after surpassing its time limit. Viewers also demand the Kapamilya show be given extended airtime.
Although it is still unusual for It’s Showtime to be seen at a new timeslot, Vice was thankful to TV5 for giving them the opportunity to be aired on a free-to-air channel since ABS-CBN’s shutdown in 2020.
