GMA Network’s drama action series Lolong was highly anticipated by TV viewers, resulting in consistently high ratings during its pilot week.
Throughout its first airing week from July 4 to July 8, Lolong was the second most-watched program nationwide.
It earned a 17.7% rating for its pilot episode on July 4 and was only 0.3% behind the #1 show, 24 Oras. It also established a 6.1% lead against its rival Kapamilya show FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The following day, Lolong dropped to a 16.2% rating with a 0.5% difference from 24 Oras. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano came closer with a 4.2% gap.
On Wednesday, Lolong improved to a 17.6% rating but its gap against 24 Oras increased to 1.0%. Meanwhile, its lead against FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano increased to 5.8%.
Lolong again almost clinched the #1 spot on the rating chart on July 7 as it earned a 16.7% rating, however, it fell short with 0.5% to beat 24 Oras.
It ended its pilot week with a 16.2% rating, while its rival improved to 13.1%.
Ruru Madrid stars in Lolong in the title role. On July 5, Madrid expressed its gratitude to the supporters of their top-rated show. He then wished people to continue watching their show and watch out for surprises they are about to bring to the table.
On its pilot week, the characters of Lolong, Elsie (Shaira Diaz), Karina (Rochelle Pangilinan), and Madam Dona (Jean Garcia) were introduced.
Elsie discovered that Lolong tamed the crocodile named Dakila, and wanted to know more about it.
Lolong also became curious as he slowly unveils his unknown powers. Eventually, Lolong will realize that he is extraordinary and he is out on a mission.
