The time-based variety show was an instant winner in its timeslot following its debut on GMA Network on Monday, July 25.
TickToClock, GMA Network’s newest pre-noontime variety show, dominated its time slot on its debut, according to AGB Nielsen National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM).
The rating firm reported that the pilot episode of the new Kapuso show on July 25 posted a 4.2% people rating, which is enough to prevent the Brightlight Productions-produced pre-noontime show, Tropang LOL, from claiming dominance of the timeslot.
Tropang LOL notably moved to its current 11 am slot on July 16 to accommodate its back-to-back airing with Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime, which now airs on a later 12:45 pm time slot. The ratings of the two shows nearly doubled because of the swap and free TV expansion.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, Bayani Agbayani, KC Montero–Tropang LOL took turns with It’s Showtime as the second most-watched noontime show in the country. Now that it airs on a pre-noontime slot, it is now TickToClock that needs to watch its back, as Tropang LOL looks poised to pose a challenge in the Kapuso variety show’s dominance. TickToClock is hosted by Kuya Kim Atienza, Pokwang, and Rabiya Mateo.
According to AGB Nielsen, Tropang LOL posted a 2.7% people rating on its first head-to-head airing with TickToClock. That’s a bit lower than its average, a week earlier, but high nevertheless, considering the limited national coverage of both TV5 and A2Z.
It remains to be seen whether Tropang LOL will be able to inch closer to its new rival in the rating game.
