On June 20, Kapamilya actor Piolo Pascual said he considers actors as ‘good liars’ at the grand launch of their upcoming series, Flower of Evil.
“I think we’re all good liars–I have to speak for everyone because we’re all actors.”
He then explained his character’s motivation in the upcoming Kapamilya series.
“That’s the fun part about playing this character, he’s very multilayered, and he made himself believe what he wanted himself/ to believe. So he created a character who’s not totally black. There’s a gray to it, and of course, the core of his character is very different.
“So, there’s a lot of grays in his life. There’s a lot/ of things he has to deal with and choices he /had to make. Whether choosing /what is good or what is bad. Definitely, what attracted me to the character was the complexity of it.”
He teased his character’s journey throughout the series.
“You’re going to hate him in the first few episodes, you’re definitely not going to like him because he’s lying to his wife. He’s lying to himself. So with the development of the story and the process, that is what he has to do. So he’s very annoying.”
He also shared his experience as a metal sculptor in the Flower of Evil.
“I had to do a workshop, a one-on-one session with Richard Buxani, so he was on the set the whole time. That’s what’s nice about Dreamscape, I guess. With our show, talagang ipapakita mo ‘yung ginagawa talaga. So we really enjoyed it.
“The finished product is being/ exhibited at Rockwell’s sa Powerplant. ‘Yun ang susundin ng Viu and ABS. So nakaka-overwhelm ‘yun.”
Pascual stars in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean series, Flower of Evil alongside the newest Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe.
Joining them are a Kapamilya all-star cast including JC de Vera, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joross Gamboa, Joko Diaz, and Edu Manzano.
Directed by Darnel Villaflor and Richard Arellano, Flower of Evil premieres first on Viu on June 23 and 24 and Kapamilya Channel and A2Z on June 25 and 26.
